Biographical or Historical Information
Sister Stanislaus was born Mary Elizabeth Coogan in Charleston, South Carolina, in 1878 to John Lynes Coogan and Sophie M. Dothage Coogan. She joined the Ursuline Sisters in Columbia, South Carolina, at the age of 21. In 1900, she entered as a novitiate and received the white veil. Sister Stanislaus died in 1923. She is buried in Saint Peter Cemetery in Columbia, South Carolina.
