Scope and Contents
This collection contains personal items belonging to Agnes Elise de Vineau Mosimann and items documenting her musical contribution to the Diocese of Charleston. Materials include accession information, correspondence, ephemera, event programs, Octavie de Vineau's 1912 journal, newspaper clippings, and photographs. Correspondence includes letters between Mosimann's daughter, Louise Mosimann Smith and diocesan archivist, Mary Giles, and between another daughter, Frances Octavie Mosimann, and Bishop David B. Thompson. Ephemera includes a copy of the 15 January 1944 issue of The Patriot, music programs featuring Mosimann as organist, a history of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist (Charleston, S.C.), and a Christmas card from Bishop Paul J. Hallinan. Event programs include diocesan events, Cathedral Servicemen's breakfasts, and St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York. The newspaper clippings contain information regarding Mosimann's tenure as diocesan organist and choir director, and her passing. The photographs include three (3) photographs of Octavie de Vineau and one (1) photograph from a 1943 Cathedral Servicemen's breakfast.

Biographical or Historical Information
Agnes Elise de Vineau Mosimann (1887-1974) was organist and choir director of St. Peter Parish (Charleston, S.C.), St. Mary of the Annunciation Parish (Charleston, S.C.), and Cathedral of St. John the Baptist (Charleston, S.C.) from the 1920s until the early 1970s. She was married to Thomas F. Mosimann and had eight children.
