Holy door brick
Scope and Contents
Square red brick (A) from the Holy Door of the Patriarchal Basilica of St. Peter's (Rome), closed by Pope Paul VI in 1975 and reopened by Pope John Paul II in 1983. On front of brick in relief, "A. IUBILAEI/ R.F.S.P./MCMLXXV (1975)" with symbol of the Vatican (?) in center. Stored in original box (B) which is made of white cardboard. It includes a certificate (#1411) of authenticity (C) that confirms brick was taken from Holy Door of St. Peter's, which was reopened by Pope John Paul II to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Redemption of the human family. Certificate states the brick was witnessed by Linus Zanini, Archbishop of Hadrianopolis in Haemimonto, Delegate of the Reverenda Fabbrica of St. Peter's Basilica. Etched on side of brick and filled in with red paint, "N. 1411 Gratis Qvovis Titvlo" and symbol of a crown and banner. 11.5 inches x 5.5 inches x 1.5 inches.
